The world according to moi

I came up with something that itches me always I'm asked for my opinion. Opinion. Of course you have the right to be opinionated, but your opinion is definitely wrong. Or not? Well, I shall not discuss the right to think freely.
Often I'm asked my opinion on a subject. A subject that, well, may be known to me, or may not. And often I find myself in a position where I'm unable to give an answer. Why? I do not have an opinion on that subject. I've never thought about it. Or I did, and it just didn't seem important enough for me to pursue the matter further. Or the subject is of my concern, but I just don't have an opinion. What is wrong with me? I often feel odd, almost ashamed: jesus, that is an important matter, why haven't I considered it? Everyone else seems to have an opinion on this.
Or do I have the right to NOT have an opinion? Law permits it, I gather. But considering my role as a part of society... I feel tremendous pressure.
Opinions are important. Especially the "nope, this is bullshit" ones. They show that everyone is not satisfied fith the present state of the world; they show that much has to be done to make the world a better place to live. Dissatisfaction is the driving force of change, not numbness and ignorance.
So, next time you're asked, just give it a quick spin before you say "I don't have an opinion on this". You might discover the subject at hand is remotely known, even interesting. Or important. You might even feel you have something to say about this.
You might even make a difference.

I'll do my best...
